Global Warming is a Global Issue

It is no secret to everyone what the Earth is currently experiencing. Global Warming may not be a big deal to some people since it is the Earth’s innate characteristic to go through a cycle of climate change. However, if you are an individual who seems to feel nothing but discomfort due to an obvious increase rate of the warm in your abode, you might really get a fuss of the climate change!

The process of the increase in the average temperature of Earth’s near-surface air and oceans or simply termed as global warming is one global issue that is hot to face. It is often used interchangeably with climate change.

‘Gases such as carbon dioxide, methane, nitrous oxide, and refrigerants create a greenhouse effect by trapping heat in the lower atmosphere. This makes the Earth warmer because the sun's rays are allowed into the lower atmosphere but the heat from these rays isn't able to escape.’

The causes why the Earth is heating up can be categorized as natural and man-made. Natural causes include: a release of methane gas from arctic tundra and wetland and the natural characteristic of the Earth to go through a climate change. Man-made causes overshadow the natural ones. Pollution and population cause the Earth to increase its temperature. Pollution goes up as population rises. More people means more demands for food and an increase of demands in transportation services; all these equates to an increase of methane production (a very dangerous greenhouse gas to our environment) because there will be more burning of fossil fuels.

Too much Carbon Dioxide may also result to the increase of this global warming phenomenon. Our plants contribute a big help in converting our Carbon Dioxide to oxygen that may prevent to the heating up of the earth. Sad to say, due to another human activity called Deforestation which is cutting down trees for commercial purposes, our planet earth is slowly losing its natural remedy against Global Warming.

As a result, news from here and there on this global warming has gotten to an alarming point. Evidences of its effects have been so apparent that's why many individuals from all walks of life desire to help by participating in some projects or programs against global warming. There is this Earth Hour which gives individuals the opportunity to do something about global warming by switching their lights off for an hour.

‘Global warming could do more than just melt polar ice. It could change our maps, and displace people from cities and tropical islands.’

Before the worse comes to worst, let us create a change in ourselves and be more responsible in taking care of our planet- AN ATTITUDE CHANGE FOR THIS CLIMATE CHANGE!
